Hello and welcome to the latest Squire Fan Club Newsletter. It’s competition time!
We are keeping the newsletter short this week as we are running a special competition for Squire Fan Club members, those of you who are subscribed to the mailing list here.
So if you enjoy reading these newsletters but come direct, or follow a link through Facebook or Bandcamp etc. we encourage you to join the mailing list as this is the key to joining in with special competitions, receiving news first, getting 'first dibs' on limited edition issues, special merch and rare stuff!
So here is the competition question!
Q. Over the last few weeks we’ve been focused on the creative process behind the Get Smart! album, where and how it was recorded, revealing demos and even talking about the sleeve design! So the question is… who designed the ‘Jesamine’ record sleeve?
A. Please email your answers to firstname.lastname@example.org with Competition in the ‘subject line’, and we will pick a winner on 21st August, and you can see who wins live on screen!
The prize this time is the ultimate Squire Super Bundle! It’s a special White Label Test Pressing of ‘Jesamine’, together with a Squire ‘Its A Mod Mod World’ Tee shirt!
Two prizes in one!
On the day of the announcement, we are also celebrating a whole year to the day that we started regular weekly newsletters!
We are very proud of the achievement and since the weekend following the competition announcement is the UK Bank Holiday Weekend, it seems great timing and opportunity for the winner to wear a Squire Tee Shirt as well as enjoy the super rare White Label copy of the latest record!
As we have explained many times before, White Label Test Pressings are very special editions of the record ‘hand pressed’ on the most superior grade black vinyl. Only a few are made and they are used to check the quality of the 'cut' before approving for final manufacture. They weigh 75-80 grams compared to normal vinyl single 40-50 grams, are of the highest quality and fidelity, and very hard to come by. Hence they are the ultimate prized possession of avid record collectors!
Of course the Tee shirt is also a ‘must have’ item for anyones wardrobe!
Thank you to everyone who bought the latest release, ‘Jesamine’. Many of you bought both colour versions, and they make a great set, and some have invested further in the previous singles of the collection.
The records are available
and also Amazon. We are aware many of you have your preferred destinations to buy records. We also supply Detour Records, and Snap in Spain, and if you have a favourite mail order or physical record shop you think would be great for Squire records, we would really appreciate the information so please let us know!
All the best from Squire - and good luck!!!
